a Photographic Journey by Meryl

Hanging On

As the last maple leaves flutter to the ground,
there are always a few hanging on till the end for dear life.
As I look at this image, my heart goes out all those who lost their homes
and livelihoods in the recent hurricane. While many are indeed holding on,
I’m awed by the strength of the human spirit, somehow galvanized
in the face of great challenges brought on by this catastrophe.
I’m also hopeful that it’s a wake-up call for politicians and
the business community to start taking
climate change seriously.

    • You are so welcome, Linda…I don’t know why it takes so much suffering for the powers that be to wake up, but such is human nature…perhaps things will change now…love to you too, Meryl

  4. Very well put Meryl… so little attention is being given to the phenomena… and it’s not only there by you… we are have hail storms with hail the size of oranges… flooding of areas normally known for being the more arid areas of South Africa… so many unusual weather patterns…

  7. A tender and compassionate sentiment in this blog. Yes, maybe this is what is needed for the politicians to wake up, unfortunately. A beautiful pictures that in its own way expresses the sentiment of the blog.
