  1. Very touching post Meryl… I did watch the slide show as well. I would have panicked at this scenario myself. Lovely that you have dedicated the post to Susan …. who was indeed a strong soul and I’m certain still is xo

  4. Oh Meryl, I just viewed the slide show. How very fortunate that you were there. I hope the sea gull is in good hands and on its way to recovery. I also discovered you have so many other blog sites I haven’t checked out yet. Thank you for your kind tender heart. Sharon

    • I’m glad you discovered my other blog –there’s just one other called Learning to See which is my first, more anecdotal and educational than this one—and you probably also found my professional website…thanks for your interest!
As for the gull, yes it was lucky I came upon him…and he was taken to a refuge but they didn’t think he would survive so they put him down…sad for me…but it’s a sweet memory and I’ve memorialized him through this work….

So sorry for the loss of your friend. It seems like the elements must have taken a toll on both Susan and this unlucky gull. Maybe she is waiting to help him with his new wings. I hope they both have found peace.
