a Photographic Journey by Meryl

Wisdom

Out in the open
sun in my eyes
cameras pointed at me
they think I’m wise
please no more questions
about the dead
or love and money
simply swivel your head

    • Thanks Barbara, actually no telephoto here. He is tamed by the local Wildlife Rescue and was on a perch out in the
open so I could walk right up close with a normal lens. There’s a link under the poem to my other blog, Learning to See, where
you can read more about him…..Lucky me!

Hi Meryl, here’s a few more lines to this poem. “Please bring me a newt, or a couple of mice. A fat little bunny would REALLY be nice. I don’t know that much, but I know what I like. I’m tired of daylight, I’m going on strike!”

  6. Fabulous photo of Hooter!! Having my own personal relationship with this guy all winter – your poem fits perfectly. He thinks he is human – truly!! He was domesticated before the refuge took him in, and this is the main reason he must be contained there. The explained to me he has lost his primal instincts, and just wants to interact and be loved. You did that for him with your camera and this tribute Meryl – great work!!

Thanks Robyn…yes, he was so human…and after awhile he did seem to get used to me…I could see having him as a pet…but it is sad that he couldn’t survive in the wild….will have to go visit him….and yes, maybe I will re-post it soon with Jeff’s addition!
