Blue
The biggest challenge of living on the East End of Long Island is warding off the blues
this time of year. When I’m asked what it’s like here in the winter, I say it’s
quiet and only for those who can create their own amusement.
After a succession of grey days, I searched my
archives for this very blue January sky
to entertain my imagination
and yes, to keep smiling.

Michigan is the same way so I lived through many winters where the biggest challenge was to smile. The grey is so heavy and constant. When the sun come out everyone blink. I remember times of laying on the floor in my house so I could catch a little sun coming in the window and feel its warmth. Hang in there!

Pat, it’s good to hear that I’m not alone…and yes, I lay on the floor when the sun shines down through the paladium windows too on the sunny days….xoxmeryl
